PROGRAM CURRICULUM
AC-1390 DOMESTIC APPLIANCE - 60 Clock Hours
This course will teach students on how to select, purchase and install electric and gas ranges, cooktops, ovens, dishwashers, washers and dryers. How to take safety precautions. The different types of gases and flames. Electric appliance parts, appliance service, installation and preventative maintenance of automatic dishwashers, garbage disposers, electric and gas water heaters, washers, electric and gas dryers and microwave ovens.
ASA-1001 AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY AND INDUSTRY STANDARDS
This course introduces students to essential automotive safety practices and industry standards required in professional repair facilities. Topics include shop safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), hazardous materials handling, environmental regulations, tool and equipment safety, and compliance with OSHA and EPA guidelines. Emphasis is placed on developing safe work habits and understanding regulatory responsibilities in the automotive industry.
ASA-1002 VEHICLE PREPARATION AND ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
This course covers routine vehicle maintenance and preparation procedures commonly performed in automotive service facilities. Students learn how to inspect vehicles, perform fluid services, replace filters, rotate tires, and prepare vehicles for service and customer delivery. The course emphasizes preventive maintenance, documentation, and proper service procedures to ensure vehicle reliability and safety.
EC-1001 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS AND BATTERY SERVICE
This course provides foundational knowledge in automotive electrical system diagnosis and battery service. Students learn basic electrical principles, circuit operation, and proper use of diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters. Topics include battery inspection, testing, charging, parasitic draw diagnosis, and electrical circuit troubleshooting.
EC-1002 STARTING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS AND CHARGING SYSTEM REPAIR
This course focuses on diagnosing and repairing starting and charging systems. Students learn to test and service starter motors, relays, solenoids, alternators, voltage regulators, and related wiring. Emphasis is placed on diagnosing no-start and charging concerns using voltage drop testing, current draw testing, and manufacturer service information.
EC-1003 LIGHTING SYSTEMS AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSIS
This course covers diagnosis and repair of vehicle lighting systems and instrument clusters. Students learn to troubleshoot headlights, turn signals, brake lights, warning indicators, gauges, and driver information displays. Instruction includes circuit testing, sensor diagnosis, and interpreting wiring diagrams to correct lighting and cluster-related faults.
EC-1004 ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SOFTWARE AND BODY ELECTRONICS
This course introduces students to body electrical systems and vehicle electronic software. Topics include diagnosing power accessories, security systems, comfort and convenience features, CAN/BUS communication, module communication errors, and basic module programming concepts. Students learn scan tool usage for body electronics diagnostics and understand software updates and electronic system integration.
ERT-1001 ENGINE DIAGNOSIS, REMOVAL, AND CYLINDER TRAIN REPAIR
This course focuses on engine mechanical diagnosis and cylinder head and valve train service. Students learn to diagnose engine performance issues, perform compression and leak-down testing, inspect camshaft timing, and remove and reinstall cylinder heads. Emphasis is placed on identifying mechanical failures, repairing valve train components, and restoring proper engine operation.
ASST-1001 STEERING SYSTEMS AND SUSPENSION SYSTEMS DIAGNOSIS AND BASIC REPAIR
This course covers steering and suspension system diagnosis and repair. Students learn to identify and service steering components, suspension systems, shocks, struts, springs, and related hardware. Instruction includes diagnosing ride quality issues, steering concerns, and suspension noises while emphasizing safe lifting and component replacement procedures.
ABS-1001 BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS AND HYDRAULIC SYSTEM REPAIR
This course provides in-depth training on hydraulic brake systems. Students learn to diagnose brake system concerns, inspect and replace hydraulic components, service master cylinders, brake lines, hoses, calipers, wheel cylinders, and perform brake bleeding procedures. Emphasis is placed on brake safety, hydraulic principles, and proper service techniques.
ABS-1002 POWER ASSIST SYSTEMS, ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL, AND RELATED COMPONENTS
This course focuses on power-assisted braking systems and electronic brake control systems such as ABS, traction control, and electronic stability control. Students learn to diagnose power boosters, wheel speed sensors, electronic brake modules, parking brakes, and wheel bearings. The course emphasizes scan tool diagnostics and electronic system troubleshooting.
AHA-1001 A/C SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS, REFRIGERATION SYSTEM, AND BASIC HVAC CONTROLS
This course introduces automotive air conditioning and HVAC systems. Students learn to diagnose A/C system performance, identify refrigeration components, perform leak testing, and service compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion devices. Basic HVAC control operation and system testing are emphasized, along with proper refrigerant handling practices.
AHA-1002 HEATING, ENGINE COOLING, AND REFRIGERANT RECOVERY
This course focuses on heating systems, engine cooling systems, and refrigerant recovery and recycling. Students learn to diagnose heater performance, service cooling system components, perform pressure testing, flush cooling systems, and safely recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerant. Environmental compliance and proper refrigerant handling procedures are emphasized.
